Upcycling furniture pieces to create a fresh look for Spring – by Jennifer White

Refreshing your look for spring doesn’t have to mean heading out to the many home décor shops and spending a pretty penny. Sometimes… by just looking around your home you can find several pieces that can be upcycled into fresh new pieces to welcome new accents into your home. We scoured the world wide web for ideas to bring directly to your doorstep, or computer screen rather. Most of these projects are even weekend projects. So grab the kids, head to your local Lowe’s or Home Depot, grab the few materials you don’t already have lying around in the garage and make it a family affair! Take a look below at some of these upcycled pieces and instead of taking a stroll around the home good stores… start at your very own front door!
Take for example this crafty ottoman we created. We’ve simply used an old tire from the garage and made a nifty (and thrifty) little footstool/ottoman. And did we mention that upcycling is even pet friendly? You can even do something for Fido…
Have an old chair that you don’t quite have space for? Throw a coat of paint on it, hang it upside down and use it for a towel rack! A unique accent piece that will work for both your kitchen and bath. Looking for an inexpensive project that will draw major looks? Try this simple palate headboard. It’s even customizable to your liking. Most hardware stores will even give you the extra palates they receive from their shipments!
So as you can see, it doesn’t take expensive new décor to revamp your home for the spring. Simple takes on old furniture pieces and a coat of paint can do the trick for many weekend projects!
